The title of this post is also the title of the talk our guest speaker Rev. Mark Morrison-Reed will present at our Sunday service on May 15th. Here he describes in his own words what it'll be about:
"An 18th-century French Huguenot was one of the first to preach Universalism in America; by early in the 19th century the Universalist declaration that 'God is Love' had swept across the young nation. In the 20th century it would inspire a new movement in the Philippines, but in America it never again achieved its initial success. Is it time to return to the message that God's love brooks no resistance? What could that possible mean in the 21st century?"
