The project is sponsored by EVIM (Evangelischer Verein für Innere Mission), an organization that trains and manages hundreds of volunteer workers in the Wiesbaden area. "Be Welcome!" is completely free of any religious mission. It creates partnerships between Germans and others, and the refugees that have been arriving.
The main goal is to foster their integration into German society to help them live here. That means learning German, accessing transportation, housing, doctors, stores, education and jobs, making friends, and getting acquainted with the culture and customs. Most of the people working with the project feel that the contact and work with the refuges is deeply enriching their lives.
