Spring Field-Trip Series
Saturday 29 March 2014 Worms, Germany
We will meet at the main entrance to the Dom (Cathedral), the South Portal, at 11:00 am. Trains run regularly from Wiesbaden to Worms, and there is a parking garage near the Dom at Koehlstrasse 67547 Worms. Our itinerary will include:
- tour of the Romanesque Dom, including the North portal where Brünhild and Kriemhild argued over who should process into the cathedral first, sparking the War of the Nibelungen.
- The Luther monument is very near where he defended himself at the Diet of Worms.
- Lunch is planned for 1:30 pm at Al Fiume, Am Rhein 5 67547 Worms, overlooking the river and near the Nibelungen Museum.
- After lunch we will visit the Synagogue and oldest Jewish Cemetery in Europe.
